The first activation of the “Sphere”
In Las Vegas took place the first activation of the “Sphere” – a unique massive LED display, which amazed residents and visitors with its scale and technological features. This impressive object includes 1.2 million LED dots, each of which is capable of reproducing incredibly rich colors and shades. By comparison, the number of LEDs on the Sphere far exceeds most famous LED screens, such as the famous Times Square display, making it unique in its kind. The structure has impressive dimensions: its height is 366 feet (approximately 112 meters) and its area is 580 thousand square feet (about 53.9 thousand square meters). During the first demonstration, the Sphere’s surface featured colorful animations including fireworks, an American flag, an image of the moon, and even a giant blinking eyeball.
Unique theater
However, the Sphere is much more than just a giant laden display wrapped around a balloon. This innovative structure is a full spherical theater that can seat up to 18,000 spectators. Inside the theater is a circular LED screen with a 16K resolution, making it one of the most high-tech auditoriums in the world. The cost of this unique structure was more than $2 billion invested by Sphere Entertainment.

Technological features
To create such a large-scale LED screen were used specially designed LED circular panels, created with the participation of Sphere Entertainment and advanced engineers in the field of LED technology. These panels embody the latest in design and functionality for durability and brightness. They are spaced 8 inches (approximately 20 centimeters) apart, and each panel includes 48 individual LEDs. These LEDs are capable of reproducing 256 million shades of color, providing an incredibly realistic and vivid image. The technology and design of the Sphere aims to dazzle viewers with visual effects, creating a whole new level of perception of images and videos.
Testing and discovery
The Sphere is currently operating in test mode, during which various visual effects such as complex animations and transitions between images are being tested. The resistance of the LED panels to prolonged use and weather conditions is also being tested. These tests ensure stable performance before the official opening. The exterior continues to glow, attracting the attention of locals and tourists. The official opening of the facility is scheduled for September this year. This event will be marked by a concert by the legendary band U2, which will be the first large-scale presentation of the Sphere’s capabilities both inside and outside.
Public reaction
The video of the first Sphere activation has already gone viral on social networks, causing a wave of admiration and discussion. Users wrote: “This is something incredible, I’ve never seen such a thing!” and “The Sphere in Las Vegas is a real miracle of technology!”. Others shared the video with comments such as: “It’s like being in a sci-fi movie!” and ‘Las Vegas is setting trends again!’. Those lucky enough to be nearby at the time of activation were able to see with their own eyes how the “Sphere” came to life, transforming into a real digital sculpture that promises to become one of the main attractions of Las Vegas and a symbol of innovation in the field of technology and entertainment.
